The future plans to be pursued by the Population Welfare Program, AJK in the next five years (2010-2015) are:

  • Family Planning services in the rural areas will be made available at the doorstep by expansion of existing Family Welfare Centres from 55 to 110.
  • Mobile Service facilities will be strengthened by establishment of 03 new Mobile Service Units for covering far-flung villages having low CPR and limited access to family planning services and to provide linkage with the Social Mobilizers.
  • More hospitals in public and private sector would be included as RHS-B Centres for contraceptive surgery facilities.
  •  Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and other public-private sector organizations (PPSOs) will be encouraged to improve and expand service facilities.
  • Registration of Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and Homoeopaths would be further strengthened in the program.
  • Training and orientation programmes will be accelerated for program personnel and employees of other departments providing health services at different outlets and for the community based groups.
  • Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign would be pursued vigorously through mass media. Inter-personal communication channels and target-oriented approach would be used in rural areas.  Program visibility would be increased and improved by voice broadcasts messages and text messages through mobile networks.
  • Community involvement by holding Sukhi Ghar Mehfils by FPHCs / FWCs at grass root level, supporting NGOs and ensuring participation of local councils/ leaders in the field of family planning
  • Establishment of 03 District Population Welfare Offices at District Hattian, Haveli and Sudhnoti.
  • Establishment of 55 new Family Welfare Centers.
  • Establishment of 03 Mobile Service Units in District Bagh, Hattian and Haveli.
  • Expansion of Village Based Family Planning Workers from 57 to 110.
